Please call us for an appointment if you have any of these brake problems:
- Your brakes seem to be becoming less responsive. Many folks describe this as their brakes feeling like they have been "floating" or "fading." This is a sign of a leak somewhere in your brake system -- either there's an air leak in the brake hose, or your brakes are leaking brake fluid. This is obviously an extremely dangerous situation, and you shouldn't drive if you become aware of your brakes acting in this manner.
- Your brakes shake or vibrate. If your brake pads cannot find an even grip in your rotors, it will cause the brakes to shake or push back in your own foot. This normally means your rotors need to be replaced. It may be dangerous to drive in these circumstances, so we recommend getting this looked at whenever possible.
- Your brakes are grinding. This usually means your brake pads need to be replaced. If you hear a high pitched screeching sound when you brake, then this means your pads are wearing down. If the screeching sound has been replaced with a louder grinding noise, this means that your brake pads have worn all of the way through and so are actually grinding against your rotors. If your brakes create any odd noises, make them to be repaired right away.
